So in this tutorial I will show you how to create the Iron Man screen interface, I don't even know if I can call it that way :). We will use Illustrator to create some vectors and Photoshop to put everything together. Step 1 Create a new document and fill the background layer with black. I used 1920x1200 pixels for the size. Step 2 Now let's use a photo. I'm using a photo of Paulo, one of our writers here on abduzeedo, he's an ironman fan and asked me to use his picture. Step 3 - Digital Make Up Create a new folder on the Layer Palette and rename it to Face. Then move the photo layer to this new folder. After that select the folder again and go to Layer>Layer Mask>Reveal All. Now with the Brush Tool (B) paint with Black to hide the areas we don't need. Step 4 Duplicate the layer ...

Advanced Glow Effects

Lighting Effects
In this tutorial, we’re going to create some really sharp-looking glow effects using a combination of layer styles, the Pen Tool and Color Blending. The end effect is quite stunning and hopefully you’ll pick up some tips you didn’t know before. Step 1: As with pretty much every tutorial I’ve ever written, we begin with a radial gradient. This one is pretty harsh and goes from a reddish brown color to black. Here are the exact color codes: Foreground color – #922f00 Background color – #000000 Step 2: In this tutorial, we actually need a pretty intense center, so what we’ll do is duplicate the layer we just made and set the one above to a blending mode of Color Dodge. There are a few types of blending modes, darkening ones, lightening ones, colorizing ones and inverting ones. Color Do...

On the Background layer, double-click to open the Layer Style dialog box and apply the Gradient Overlay with black and green (#9dc5c7). Step 2 Create a new layer. Set white for the foreground and black for the background color. After that, go to Filter>Render>Clouds. Rename the layer to “Clouds.” Step 3 Change the Blend Mode of the clouds layer to Multiply 60%. Duplicate the layer and rename it to “radial blur.” After that, go to Filter>Blur>Radial Blur. Flying Girl In Photoshop

light effect, Lighting Effects
A few weeks ago I published a tutorial called Girl in Tempo. I used the new version of Pixelmator that had the codename Tempo. The result was really nice and I got a very positive feedback, and, also some emails asking me to do that tutorial in Adobe Photoshop. So yesterday I took a couple of hours to create the Photoshop version of my flying girl. In this tutorial we will use some stock photos and mix them together to create a nice effect. It was inspired by a chapter of the depthCORE collective called NOIR. Step 1 Create a new document in Photoshop, as usual I used 1920x1200 pixels. Then select the background layer and add a layer style, go to Layer>Layer Style>Gradient Overlay. Use Radial for the Style, and Scale 62%.
